Heal Your Affliction

James 5:13-18

 Our enemy, the afflicter, desires to use pain and suffering to drive a wedge between God and His beloved children, for our human tendency is to reject or blame God in times of great hardship.


Get Season Tickets (v 13)

 Accept the fact that there indeed is a season for everything.

 

Call Upon the Cavalry (v 14)

 Definition—military force organized for maximum mobility.

 

Use a Thimble of an Important Symbol (v. 14) 

 

Turn to the One Who Can Turn the Key (v 14-15)

 The phrase “in the name of the Lord” occurs 25 times in the Old Testament and “In the name of Jesus” occurs 6 times in the New Testament.

 Christ Jesus alone holds the key to healing and life itself.

 

 Unclog the Drain (v 16)

 Righteousness is obeying God’s Word and holding fast to integrity, purity, honesty, goodness, and love.

 

Press Redial (v 17-18)

 When we pray, we must follow Elijah’ example; we mustn’t give up but continue to ask God in faith to come and rescue us from the droughts of life.
