The Lie: God Is a Shamer

Matthew 26:21-22, 33-35, 56-58, 74-75

When we view God as a shamer, we think of Him as this force in the universe with a stick in his hand, waiting for our next mistake so He can administer a spiritually and emotionally painful beating.

God Creates Us in His Image (Psalm 139:13-14)

If we think God makes mistakes, we will treat ourselves and others badly.

If we think God makes masterpieces, we will treat ourselves and others kindly and carefully as priceless works of art.

God Adopts Us into His Family (Romans 8:15)

 God Spiritually Enriches Us

God removes are shamed not by making us materially rich but by making us spiritually rich.

God Strengthens Us (2 Cor. 12:10)

when we admit to being too weak on her own, God can demonstrate his strength through us.

God Gives Us A New Heart (1 Peter 3:3-4; Ezekiel 36:26; 2 Cor. 7:17)

When you are given spiritual rebirth by God, he provides you with a new heart and spirit that are drop dead gorgeous.

God Makes Us Part of His Plan (Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 23:4-11, 28)

At the moment you say yes to Jesus you move from death to life and become part of the most important reclamation project the world has ever known.
